Liberal, Kansas has been home since 1988. My husband, Mike, and I moved to Liberal and continued our careers in banking and teaching. Scott City, Kansas was home for the first 18 years of my life. In 1980, I graduated from SCHS and attended Kansas State University for the next 5 years.
I graduated from Kansas State University in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education followed by my master's degree in Special Education in 1985. I also received an ESOL endorsement from Newman University.
My first job was teaching in a K-2 Behavior Disorders classroom at Eisenhower Elementary in Junction City. 1n 1988, we moved to Liberal where I continued teaching BD kids at McDermott and McKinley for 6 years. After that I taught 3rd grade and 5th grade for 15 years at McDermott, McKinley, and Cottonwood respectively. The last 8 years I’ve been an instructional coach spending 6 years at West Middle School and 2 years at Eisenhower.
My husband and I have two children, Jamie & Caleb. Jamie is a graduate of LHS and KSU. Caleb is also a graduate of LHS and is a student at Kansas State University.
