About Mr. Tiedeman

I have been teaching in Liberal, KS since the fall of 2009.  I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in K-12 Music Education in 2009.  As a music education major I am required to learn all of the band and orchestra instruments but the instrument I studied most closely during college was the tuba.  I love performing on the tuba and plan on playing it for the rest of my life.  During college I performed in the university's best band, the Wind Ensemble, the University Symphony Orchestra, the Pride of the Rockies Marching Band and many small chamber groups.  The most memorable performing opportunity I had in college was when I went to Cincinatti, OH for the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference.  I competed and performed with the UNC tuba quartet at the renowned get together of tuba and euphonium players from around the world.

I have enjoyed my stay in Liberal, KS so far.  I am married to Shelley Tiedeman and you can find her as the Assistant Principal at Sunflower Intermediate.  Before entering the world of administration, she taught a variety of upper level Math classes at Liberal High School.  We have a beautiful home and wonderful family.  We have two dogs (Millie and Baxter) that always keep us on our toes.  We have two children.  Harmony(10-4-11) has an infectous personality.  Owen(12-21-13) is a wild man.  He is quite the climber and is always getting into something.  I am always looking forward to the new adventures I face as a Dad.

Some of my hobbies include golf, NASCAR, yardwork, food and playing games on my Xbox One.  I have been a die hard fan of a few different teams and they are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indiana Hoosiers, Indiana Pacers and the #78 car driven by Martin Truex Jr.
