I was born in Guymon, Oklahoma and was raised with three siblings in rural Oklahoma panhandle. My parents farm and raise cattle between Guymon and Boise City, Oklahoma. My father's family homesteaded in the same area in 1905. My mother's family are from southwest Oklahoma. My elementary school training was in Guymon public schools and my middle and high school years were in the Yarbrough public school. I graduated from Yarbrough High School, then continued my education at Panhandle State University where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Industrial Arts. I completed my teaching block at this time also. After many years of teaching and coaching, I began my masters program at Southern Nazarene University.
